All listed authors must meet authorship criteria, approve the final manuscript, and agree to be accountable for the work. Journal of Public Health International follows COPE and ICMJE guidance on authorship.
Manuscripts must be original and not under review or published elsewhere. Duplicate submission or redundant publication may result in rejection and may be reported to institutions, consistent with COPE guidance.
The corresponding author must provide an ORCID iD. ORCID iDs are encouraged for all authors. Register at orcid.org.
For studies that require reporting checklists (for example, clinical trials, systematic reviews, observational studies), submit the appropriate checklist. See the EQUATOR Network for guidance.
Manuscripts previously posted on preprint servers are considered for review. Authors must disclose the preprint DOI or URL at submission. Preprint posting does not constitute prior publication.
All submissions must include a Data Availability Statement describing where data and materials can be accessed, or why access is restricted. See Data Archiving and Permissions for requirements.
- Experimental procedure: Provide sufficient detail for replication. Describe new procedures fully and cite published procedures. Describe only necessary modifications.
- Materials and Methods: Provide enough detail for replication, include gender of subjects, list companies for materials, and include affiliations for individually sourced materials. A theory-only manuscript may omit this section.
- Results: Present findings clearly and precisely. Include only essential results and apply appropriate statistical tests.
- Discussion: Summarize principal findings, evaluate validity, compare with related literature, and state significance. Speculations may be included.
- Conclusion: Provide a clear summary of results and realistic implications across political, social, or technical arenas, when relevant.
- Acknowledgments: Identify funding sources and assistance that does not warrant authorship. Inform individuals in advance. Promotional statements are not permitted.
- Conflict of interest: Disclose conflicts in the cover letter field during submission. An editor may require a disclosure footnote.
- Affiliations: Use the institution where the primary contribution was made. Current affiliation may be listed in Acknowledgements.
References are cited in the text by number (not by author and date) and listed consecutively in order of appearance. List the first five authors and then add "et al." for additional authors. Authors are responsible for reference accuracy.
