Copyright & Open Access License
The Journal of Agronomy Research (JAR) operates under a fully Open Access publishing model, ensuring that your research reaches the widest possible audience without barriers. We believe that scientific knowledge should be freely accessible to researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and the public worldwide.

Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License
All articles published in JAR are licensed under CC BY 4.0
Author Copyright Retention
Authors retain full copyright of their published work. Unlike traditional subscription-based journals, JAR does not require authors to transfer copyright to the publisher. This means you maintain complete ownership and control over your intellectual property while granting the journal a license to publish and distribute your work.
What This Means for You: You retain the right to reuse, republish, and share your work in any format, including in your thesis, institutional repository, personal website, or future publications. You can also grant permissions to third parties without seeking approval from the journal.
Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0)
All articles published in JAR are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License, which grants users the following freedoms:
License Requirements
Users of CC BY 4.0 licensed content must:
- Give appropriate credit: Cite the original article with full author names, article title, journal name, volume, issue, page numbers, and DOI
- Provide a link to the license: Include a link to http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/
- Indicate changes: If you modified the original work, clearly state what changes were made
- No endorsement: Do not suggest that the original authors or JAR endorse your use of the work

Self-Archiving & Green Open Access
JAR fully supports self-archiving and encourages authors to deposit their manuscripts in institutional or subject-specific repositories. Authors may archive:
- Preprints: The original submitted manuscript before peer review
- Postprints: The accepted manuscript after peer review (Author's Accepted Manuscript)
- Published version: The final published PDF with full citation and DOI
Recommended Repositories: arXiv, bioRxiv, ResearchGate, Academia.edu, institutional repositories, PubMed Central, Europe PMC, and any other open access repository.
Third-Party Content & Permissions
If your manuscript includes content (figures, tables, photographs, or text excerpts) from previously published works that are not under an open license, you must obtain written permission from the copyright holder before submission.

---|---|---|
Author Copyright | Retained by authors | Transferred to publisher |
Public Access | Immediate & free | Subscription required |
Reuse Rights | Broad reuse allowed (CC BY 4.0) | Restricted, permission needed |
Self-Archiving | All versions allowed | Limited or embargoed |
Commercial Use | Permitted with attribution | Generally prohibited |
Global Reach | Unrestricted worldwide access | Limited to subscribers |
Plagiarism & Copyright Infringement
JAR takes copyright infringement and plagiarism seriously. All submitted manuscripts are screened using advanced plagiarism detection software. Authors must ensure that:
- All content is original or properly attributed
- Proper citations are provided for all referenced works
- Permissions are obtained for third-party copyrighted materials
- Self-plagiarism (duplicate publication) is avoided
Consequences of Violation: Manuscripts found to contain plagiarized or improperly used copyrighted content will be rejected. Published articles found to violate copyright will be retracted, and authors may be banned from future submissions.
Licensing for Supplementary Materials
All supplementary materials (datasets, code, videos, additional figures) submitted with your manuscript will also be published under the CC BY 4.0 license unless otherwise specified. If you wish to apply a different license to specific materials (e.g., CC0 for datasets or MIT license for software), please indicate this clearly during submission.
Commercial Use & Derivative Works
The CC BY 4.0 license explicitly permits commercial use and the creation of derivative works. This means:
- Commercial publishers may include JAR articles in commercial databases or aggregations
- Educational institutions may use articles in paid courses or training programs
- Researchers may build upon your work in commercial research projects
- Media outlets may adapt your findings for news articles or reports
All commercial users must still provide proper attribution and comply with the license terms.
