CC BY 4.0: Articles are published under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. Anyone may share, copy, redistribute, and adapt the material for any purpose, including commercial use, with appropriate attribution.
Copyright Ownership
Authors retain copyright while granting JBSC publication rights. You maintain full ownership of your neuro-oncology research.
Self-Archiving
Deposit published versions in institutional repositories and personal websites without embargo.
Reuse Rights
Freely reuse published content for teaching, presentations, and derivative works.
Users must cite original authors, article title, journal name, volume/issue, and DOI when reusing content. Modifications should be noted. The license does not imply endorsement of derivative works.
When including previously published figures, tables, or substantial quotations, authors must obtain permissions and provide appropriate attribution.
By submitting manuscripts, authors warrant that work is original, not published elsewhere, and does not infringe third-party rights. Authors confirm necessary permissions for reproduced content.

CC BY licensing permits educational reuse of published CNS cancer research. Instructors may incorporate articles, figures, and data into educational materials with proper attribution.
Published articles may be translated with appropriate attribution. Translations must identify original source clearly for readers.
Authors who posted preprint versions before journal submission retain those preprint rights. The final published version carries CC BY license. Authors should update preprints with links to published version.
Supplementary data published with articles follows the same CC BY licensing. This enables reuse and reanalysis of CNS cancer datasets while maintaining attribution to original authors.
Open access publication does not affect patent rights. Authors with pending patents should consult technology transfer offices regarding publication timing and disclosure requirements.
Researchers may create derivative works under CC BY terms including meta-analyses, systematic reviews, and database compilations incorporating published CNS tumor data with appropriate citation.
Authors may deposit final published versions in institutional repositories immediately upon publication. Green open access deposits are permitted without embargo under CC BY license terms, enhancing institutional research profiles.

Submit ManuscriptPublic Access and Funder Compliance
Some authors are required by their funders to make their research publicly available. Under the 2024 NIH Public Access Policy, Author Accepted Manuscripts accepted for publication on or after July 1, 2025, must be submitted to PubMed Central upon acceptance and made publicly available without embargo on the official date of publication.
What JBSC provides: JBSC publishes the Version of Record under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence. The journal also permits authors to deposit their Author Accepted Manuscript in funder-designated repositories. Upon acceptance, we confirm the accepted manuscript version and record the funder and grant information supplied by the authors.
Author responsibility: JBSC does not currently deposit manuscripts in PubMed Central on behalf of authors. Authors are responsible for determining which funder requirements apply, initiating the appropriate repository submission and completing any required NIHMS approval steps.
Eligibility and successful processing through PubMed Central or NIHMS are determined according to the relevant funder and NIH/NLM requirements.
Important: The deposit of an individual article in PubMed Central may result in that article appearing in PubMed. It does not mean that JBSC is indexed in MEDLINE, included in the PMC Journal List or that all JBSC articles are available through PubMed. The journal's current coverage is listed on the Indexing page.
