Attentional Processes

Attentional processes refer to the cognitive processes involved in the selection and focus of attention on particular stimuli or tasks. They are important for the functioning of many activities including learning, working, and interacting with the environment. Attentional processes involve the ability to attend to relevant information, tune out distractions, and focus on a task or stimulus. Attentional processes are important for making decisions and ensuring that information is accurately processed and remembered. They are also integral for personal and social functioning, as they help an individual to maintain and transition between tasks, and to be aware of the changing contexts in which they live and work.
