JMID adheres to the highest standards of publishing ethics, as defined by COPE, ensuring fairness, transparency, and scientific rigor.
JMID employs rigorous double-blind peer review. Both reviewers and authors remain anonymous throughout evaluation. Each manuscript is assessed by at least two independent informatics specialists.
- Initial screening by the Editor-in-Chief
- Assignment to qualified peer reviewers
- Authors receive detailed feedback and editorial decision
All research involving patient data must comply with ethical standards:
- IRB or Ethics Committee approval
- HIPAA/GDPR compliance for health data
- Proper de-identification of clinical data
Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence their work. Reviewers and editors must recuse themselves when conflicts exist.
JMID uses iThenticate to screen all submissions. Manuscripts must represent original work with proper attribution to all sources.
If errors are discovered post-publication, JMID will issue an erratum. In cases of misconduct, articles may be retracted per COPE guidelines.
