Charges are applied only after acceptance. There are no submission fees, and authors retain copyright under an open license.
What the APC Covers
The APC supports essential publishing services that maintain research integrity and discoverability:

Waivers and Discounts
We consider waiver or discount requests for authors from low and lower middle income economies, early career researchers, and multi center collaborations that demonstrate high public health value.
Requests are evaluated individually, based on transparency and research impact. Contact the editorial office early to discuss options.
- Eligibility based on World Bank income classification
- Support for global health and equity focused studies
- Discounts for approved institutional partnerships
- Membership and special issue arrangements
Institutional Support
Many institutions and funders cover APCs for open access publishing. Authors should verify institutional agreements and budget allocation during project planning.
We provide invoices and documentation to assist with grant compliance and reporting.
Payment and Invoicing
Once a manuscript is accepted, the production team issues an invoice with payment instructions. Publication proceeds after confirmation of payment or approved waivers.
