Steroids in Pregnancy

Steroids in pregnancy is a medication used to treat a range of medical conditions. It is usually used to speed up fetal growth in pregnant women who are at risk of giving birth prematurely. By reducing the risk of premature birth, it helps reduce the risk of life-threatening complications for both the mother and the baby. Steroids also help reduce the risk of respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) in premature babies, as well as reduce the risk of stillbirth. They can help improve the outlook for babies born prematurely, and reduce their stay in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
