Biography
Jean Mariani is affiliated with BIOPHYTIS SA and Sorbonne Université in Italy. His research encompasses diverse areas of neuroscience and aging, including cerebellar circuitry and Purkinje cell physiology, neural circuit repair mechanisms, sleep disorders in geriatric populations, and the pathophysiology of Alzheimer's disease. His work examines the molecular and cellular basis of neurological function and age-related decline, spanning topics from synaptic plasticity and receptor function to the relationship between sleep parameters, sarcopenia, and cognitive decline in older adults. His most-cited publication, "Neural circuit repair by low-intensity magnetic stimulation requires cellular magnetoreceptors and specific stimulation patterns" (2019), has received 71 citations and reflects his contributions to understanding therapeutic approaches for neural repair.
