- Xiou Cao is a Research Assistant and PhD student in the laboratory of Dr. Alejandro Aballay at Duke University Medical Center.
- His main research focuses on using C. elegans as a model organism to study host-pathogen interactions and neural regulation of immunity.
- His research highlighted the role of dopamine signaling and dopamine neural circuit in the regulation of p38/PMK-1 MAPK pathway in nematode C. elegans.
